Daimler Truck

Vocational Training in detail

Learn something useful: how to love your job.

Straight from school life into working life. A traineeship with Daimler Truck is the perfect first step toward a career, or more precisely, a huge range of careers. Our selection of vocational traineeships offers something for everyone.

Welcome to your future career! A traineeship with Daimler Truck lasts between two and three-and-a-half years, depending on the field. Trainees who perform well or very well academically and professionally can shorten their traineeship by at least six months.

You can – and should – expect a lot from Daimler during your traineeship:

'Learning and working in the training room' and 'working and learning in the workplace' are central to what we do. We team up with the vocational college to give you specialist theoretical knowledge. We always follow the principle that training for a vocation is a matter of doing the work itself, based on the materials published by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

Gain experience in future technologies such as fuel cells, robotics or laser welding. Be a manager – as part of a trainee company. Take advantage of our international exchange programs and complete part of your traineeship abroad. Learn and work together as a team and in project groups – and have fun in the process.

On a Daimler Truck traineeship you will develop a whole spectrum of skills that will push you forward in your future career, e.g. self-initiative, independence, and communication and problem-solving skills. We support your personal and professional progress with selected techniques to promote development, including training workshops and challenging assignments in diverse departments. That also includes learning and working in a team. For instance, trainees from twelve vocational groups worked on a special project over the course of a year designing and producing an F-CELL roadster, a sleek two-seater car powered by fuel cells.

We encourage women in so-called male professions, which means ambitious young women can count on our support.

And when the traineeship is over? We would be happy to hire you if you have the right performance profile. After all, the best trained recruits are the ones we have trained ourselves.
