Leinfelden‑Echterdingen/Krems (Austria) – Daimler Truck Austria, together with dealer partner Pappas Auto GmbH, has handed over 13 all‑electric Mercedes‑Benz eActros to Austrian waste management and circular economy company Brantner green solutions. By choosing these vehicles, Brantner sends a clear message supporting the decarbonization of the industry. The new Mercedes‑Benz Trucks electric fleet comprises three eActros 600 and ten first‑generation eActros 300, replacing heavy diesel-powered vehicles.
Florian Edtmayer, Head of Customer Services & Parts, Daimler Truck Austria, said: “Brantner has been a reliable partner of Mercedes‑Benz Trucks for decades – and we are particularly pleased that the company is now taking this step into the future of drive technology together with us. Brantner has always demonstrated innovative strength and a consistent commitment to sustainable solutions.”
eActros 300 and eActros 600 in daily operations
Since the beginning of 2026, Brantner has fully integrated the eActros 300 and eActros 600 – some of which were delivered last year – into daily collection and disposal logistics operations. Depending on the application, Brantner achieves ranges of 500 kilometers and more with its Mercedes‑Benz tractor units, box trucks, and waste collection vehicles. The eActros models prove to be an efficient solution, particularly in terms of range, vehicle concept, and practical suitability in heavy-duty use. In addition to locally CO₂e‑free operation, employees and residents benefit from significantly reduced noise levels in daily service.
Manfred Vogl, Managing Director of Brantner green solutions, explained: “Brantner green solutions operates internationally in the circular economy and focuses on sustainable recycling solutions. Our mission is to view waste as a valuable resource and to return as many materials as possible to the cycle.”
Joachim Schild, Key Account Manager, Daimler Truck AG, added: “The rollout of the eActros 600 is progressing very successfully. Last year, we took the lead in Europe in battery-electric heavy‑duty vehicles. Working with Brantner is an outstanding project initiated about two years ago. I vividly recall discussions with Brantner’s management at the penultimate IFAT trade fair in Munich. It is gratifying to see that 13 vehicles are already in operation – and getting direct positive feedback from the drivers is a strong signal.”
In-House infrastructure as the key to operational readiness
Charging infrastructure is a crucial success factor for electric operations. At Brantner, the e‑trucks are fully charged in the company's own charging park within a maximum of seven hours, ready for service at the start of the workday. Route tracking data also forms the basis for an efficient transition, enabling Brantner to identify routes where electric drives can be used most effectively.
In parallel with fleet conversion, Brantner is investing in high‑power charging parks powered by 100% green electricity. In addition, photovoltaic systems on the roofs of several Brantner sites are being expanded to produce part of the electricity requirement within an energy community.
