Compliance Management System for Export Control and Sanctions

For Daimler Truck, compliance with foreign trade regulations and in particular with the applicable national and international economic sanctions is a basic principle of entrepreneurial action.

Daimler Truck has implemented a comprehensive compliance organization and processes that minimize the risk of violations of foreign trade law, in particular the EU and applicable US sanctions against Russia and Belarus.

Daimler Truck does not conduct business with the Russian Federation (Russia), including the Russian-occupied territories of Ukraine, as well as with the Republic of Belarus, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea) and requires its distributors to provide contractual assurances that no Daimler Truck products will be forwarded to these countries or territories and no services will be provided to and for these countries or territories with respect to Daimler Truck products.

Daimler Truck manufactures commercial vehicles for transport tasks, use on construction sites and in open-cast mining, tasks in the municipal sector, for fire brigades and disaster control, and buses for passenger transport. In the truck sector, we also manufacture trucks for military logistics and defense purposes to a small extent. Daimler Truck stands by its production of military vehicles that are used in the armies of EU and NATO member states as well as in other countries around the world.

Exports of military trucks from Germany are generally subject to export controls by the Federal Government. It should be considered that the Federal Government only issues export licenses if the end-user and the end-user country meet strict criteria. In this context, the conformity of the export project with German foreign and security policy interests and the observance of human rights in the receiving country are examined in particular. For exports of vehicles that do not require a permit, we have implemented a separate assessment process that takes into account the foreign and security policy line of the Federal Government.

Daimler Truck is also strictly complying with the individual sanctions. To this end, an IT-supported sanctions list check has been established throughout the Group, which corresponds to the state-of-the-art and considers all relevant sanctions lists.
