Leinfelden-Echterdingen/Hannover – Agritechnica will open its doors in Hanover from November 9 to 15, 2025. As the world's leading trade fair for agricultural technology, it is considered the industry's largest showcase and forum.
Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks will be presenting the Unimog there – proven for decades as an economical all-wheel-drive tractor, transport professional in agriculture, and multifunctional implement carrier for year-round use. With a top speed of 89 km/h, it is suitable for highway driving and offers low fuel consumption, high payload, and an ergonomic workplace, whether in the field or on the highway.
At its 370 m² stand D37 in Hall 6, Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks is exhibiting three specially configured Unimogs for agricultural applications, which are also suitable as base vehicles for contractors and service providers who perform additional municipal work outside the season or specialize in these activities.
All three vehicles on display are equipped with the new UNI-TOUCH® operating system. The 10.5-inch touchscreen with freely assignable buttons allows quick adaptation to different tasks, while the sliding center console and optional multifunction joystick ensure greater ergonomics. A start/stop button, new door control panels, and central locking are also included as standard. UNI-TOUCH® also offers headland management for efficient work in the field.
With the synergistic EasyDrive transmission, the vehicles on display can switch quickly between manual transmission and hydrostatic transmission for continuously variable driving at speeds of up to 50 km/h. With the built-in load-sensing hydraulics, Unimog implement carriers can automatically adjust the oil pressure and flow rate of the hydraulic pump to the current power requirements of the connected implements. In addition, all Unimog implement carriers on display are equipped with comfort steering and quick radiator cleaning.
The VarioPilot® alternating steering system is also on display, which allows the steering wheel and pedals to be moved and the driver to change seats. In combination with the short front overhang, this ensures a good view of the front attachments and the working area, especially on the right-hand side of the road.
The Unimog implement carrier meets the latest GSR requirements with attention and traffic sign assistant, Sideguard Assist 2, Frontguard Assist, and pre-installation for alcohol testers with immobilizer. Front and rear cameras with monitor provide additional visibility. The Unimog sets standards in terms of safety in agricultural and municipal road traffic.
With its approval as a tractor or, following EU type approval, as a fast-moving tractor (T1b), the Unimog benefits from legal concessions such as tax and toll exemption, exemption from EC tachograph and driver card requirements, and exemption from the ban on driving on Sundays and public holidays. In the version limited to 60 km/h, the Unimog can already be driven with a tractor driver's license.
Unimog U 530: A versatile workhorse for fields, grassland, roads and off-road
The Unimog U 530 is designed for use in agriculture and offers numerous features that make it a versatile work tool. A rear power lift with lift control and a mechanical rear PTO for full engine power enable the use of a wide variety of attachments. A front PTO and a front mounting plate with front power lift for municipal and agricultural attachments are also available. Additional components can be easily integrated and controlled via ISOBUS interfaces.
The UNI-TOUCH® operating system offers headland management to activate recurring processes at the touch of a button. The activation buttons are conveniently located on the joystick on the armrest. UNI-TOUCH® can also be used to save driver profiles, settings, and individual configurations for different attachments and recall them at the touch of a button after changing attachments or drivers. This makes work more pleasant and prevents operating errors.
For greater driving and working comfort, the U 530 is equipped with hydropneumatic suspension on the rear axle. It replaces the conventional coil springs with gas accumulators and hydraulic cylinders. The system keeps the frame at the same height regardless of the load and its position, ensuring stable handling even with high support and rear axle loads or attachments with asymmetrical weight distribution. At the touch of a button in the cab, the vehicle frame can be lowered by up to 16 cm, which simplifies and speeds up attachment changes and hitching and unhitching.
Additional practical advantages are provided by the tire pressure control system in combination with the 495/70R24 agricultural tires, which allow the air pressure to be adjusted when switching between field and road use. This reduces tire wear and fuel consumption, protects the soil, and increases traction. The flatbed intermediate frame in conjunction with a three-way tipping flatbed also offers a wide range of possible uses or can serve as a basis for mounting implements such as mounted sprayers or large-area spreaders.
Thanks to the height-adjustable trailer hitch with permanently installed K80 coupling and additional K50 coupling for forced steering of the trailer, the Unimog can be used flexibly as a tractor.
Unimog U 435: High engine power for implement use and agricultural logistics
The Unimog U 435 is aimed at customers who require high performance combined with compact dimensions and low weight. The inline six-cylinder engine with 260 kW (354 hp) provides high power reserves. This is advantageous for rapid transport with high payloads or large trailer loads. Power-intensive implements can also be supplied with engine power via the engine-side power take-off or the PTO drive with front PTO. In addition, the Unimog has a power hydraulics system for attaching implements.
At Agritechnica, the focus is also on equipment that complies with the new EU-wide GSR requirements. This includes assistance systems such as traffic sign and attention assist with extended sensors, Sideguard Assist 2, Frontguard Assist, and tire pressure monitoring. These technologies increase road safety and relieve the driver on long working days.
For soil-conserving work, the U 435 is equipped with the optional tirecontrol plus tire pressure control system. The driver can lower the tire pressure while driving to increase traction in the field and reduce soil compaction. With high tire pressure, speeds of up to 89 km/h can be achieved, which, especially during the busy harvest season, enables quick movement from one field to the next and thus a larger radius of action and more efficient use of short harvest windows.
In addition to the hydropneumatic suspension on the rear axle, which can accommodate high support loads, this Unimog also scores points with its height-adjustable trailer coupling.
Unimog U 219: compact, versatile, and safe
The Unimog U 219 is being presented at Agritechnica as a compact and versatile implement carrier for year-round use. With a wheelbase of 2,800 millimeters and a maximum permissible speed of 89 km/h, it is both maneuverable and fast for municipal tasks.
A wide range of implements can be used via the front mounting plate and front PTO drive. At this year's Agritechnica, the vehicle will be exhibited with a UNA 600 mowing boom, AWS 22 branch and hedge trimmer from Dücker, and Yeti W16 spreader from Bucher. With this combination, the Unimog U 219 can be used in the winter mornings to combat slippery conditions and then to assist with tree and shrub maintenance.
The comprehensive LED lighting system – from flashing lights to long-range and work lights to heated auxiliary lights – ensures the best possible visibility and a high level of safety when driving and working in the early hours of the morning or at night.
