Stuttgart / Salzburg – The new Mercedes-Benz Intouro now connects cities and countryside in Austria. Fischwenger Reisen GmbH, headquartered in Strasswalchen north of Salzburg, uses seven Intouro vehicles for its traditional intercity routes. Depending on its equipment, the versatile Intouro can be used for shuttle bus, school bus, or feeder bus operation for factory traffic, as well as for excursions and short trips.
Seven new Intouro for Fischwenger Reisen GmbH's most important route
For the most important route in the company’s history, Fischwenger Reisen GmbH has acquired a total of eleven new buses, including seven new Mercedes-Benz Intouro buses. The company hired an additional 18 drivers for this regular service. They have been operating in the Hintersee – Faistenau – Salzburg area since December 2021 and cover around 830,000 kilometres annually. This bus company employs a total workforce of 80 from the region and operates 55 buses on a daily basis.
Johann and Maria Fischwenger founded the bus company in 1972, starting with a minibus. The company has been run by sons Andreas and Hannes Fischwenger since 2008. In 2022, the family-owned company will be celebrating its 50th anniversary.
Equipped for the comfort and safety of passengers and drivers
The seven Intouro vehicles are powered by low-emission Euro VI engines from Mercedes-Benz. They have a wide range of comfort features such as a vehicle lowering system for low boarding heights, a lift to assist people with reduced mobility, passenger compartment air conditioning, and USB charging sockets near seats for passenger end devices. Drivers will enjoy elements including an ergonomic cockpit, automatic transmission, driver air-conditioning system, and a protective screen to protect the driver from infections by droplets.
