Leinfelden-Echterdingen – Every month, Daimler Truck employees voluntarily donate the cent amounts of their wages to the Daimler Truck ProCent initiative. The amount collected for the good cause is doubled by the company and is used for national and international donation projects. What looks like small amounts at first glance has a big impact: in 2022 alone, 14 projects worldwide were supported with a total of almost 120,000 euros. The funding amount per project varies from 1,250 euros to 31,100 euros. The funds are mainly used for child and youth welfare and for charitable purposes.

Social commitment with ProCent – ​​three examples

Bürstadt: Kinderkrippe Sonnenkäfer

ProCent supports the Sonnenkäfer daycare center in Bürstadt (Hessen) in purchasing a climbing wall with a suitable safety mat and climbing bridge.

Schindhard: Setting up a crossfit and calisthenics facility
The local community of Schindhard (Rhineland-Palatinate) has set up a crossfit and calisthenics facility for children and young people, which is used to carry out strength and stabilization exercises with your own body weight.

Tshikapa: well construction

The initiative supports the Keep Smiling e.V. association, which is working to build new wells in and around Tshikapa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

About Daimler Truck ProCent

The ProCent development fund goes back to an initiative of the general works council and is supported and promoted by the company management. A committee with equal representation from the areas mentioned decides on the use of the funds and the projects funded with them. The suggestions for the projects are given by the Daimler Truck employees and can be submitted at any time. Since the start of ProCent in 2011, at that time by the former Daimler AG, almost 1,700 projects with a total donation amount of around 11.6 million euros have been implemented. Daimler Truck has been continuing the initiative independently since December 2021.
