Leinfelden-Echterdingen/Neu-Ulm/Westerstede/Hofolding/Langenau. The bus companies Gerdes Reisen, Geldhauser Linien- und Reiseverkehr and Schröder Reisen are adding numerous new Setra buses to their fleets.

New major Setra order for Gerdes Reisen

With 24 new Low Entry buses and two double-decker buses from Setra, Gerdes Reisen will operate a route bundle of the Bremen/Lower Saxony Transport Association (VBN), whose contract has been extended by ten years. The vehicles include the S 515 LE and S 518 LE of the Setra MultiClass, as well as two S 531 DT of the Setra TopClass, which will be used on routes in the Ammerland-Westerstede district.

The ten S 515 LE offer 45 seats and 38 standing places. The fourteen S 518 LE provide 57 seats and 48 standing places. All vehicles are equipped with interior surveillance cameras. The two S 531 DT double-deckers feature a double-width second door, 87 seats, 17 standing places, and one wheelchair space. They are equipped with destination displays and passenger counting systems and will operate on the express bus line between Westerstede and Oldenburg.

With these 26 new Setra vehicles, the Lower Saxony-based company from Westerstede is renewing its fleet. The business is run in the second generation by Thomas Gerdes, who has already initiated the generational transition together with his three sons.

Geldhauser – seven S 531 DT for MVV

Geldhauser Linien- und Reiseverkehr has added nine Setra double-decker buses to its fleet.Seven S 531 DT will be used on behalf of the Munich Transport and Tariff Association (MVV) on routes in the Dachau district and on express bus lines. Two additional double-decker buses will be available for charter services for schools, clubs, company outings, and events.

Geldhauser operates a fleet of around 800 vehicles, ranging from accessible minibuses to luxurious double-decker coaches for its own travel program. Founded in 1962, the company is headquartered in Hofolding, south of Munich, and serves municipalities, companies, clubs, and schools.

5 × S 517 HD and 11 × S 531 DT for Schröder Reisen

To mark its 35th company anniversary, Schröder Reisen from Langenau is expanding its fleet with 16 new Setra touring coaches—eleven S 531 DT double-deckers and five S 517 HD coaches from the Setra ComfortClass.

The coaches, stationed in Berlin and at the company’s home base in Langenau, will be used for day trips and multi-day city tours throughout Europe. They feature the latest driver assistance and safety systems from Daimler Buses, comfort leather headrests at all seats, onboard kitchens, and toilets.

With the ceremonial handover at the Daimler Buses Customer Center in Neu-Ulm, the company—founded in 1990 by Andreas Schröder and now run together with his son Dominic—now operates 130 Setra vehicles.

In addition to trips for clubs, schools, and companies, Schröder Reisen is one of the largest Flixbus partners in Central, Eastern, and Southern Germany. The company also provides team buses for several sports clubs, including the basketball team of Bundesliga club Ratiopharm Ulm and the football team of SSV Ulm 1846.
