Leinfelden-Echterdingen/Neu-Ulm – Rausch-Reisen Omnibustouristik GmbH (Rausch-Reisen for short) from Zörbig-Schortewitz in Saxony‑Anhalt has received two new Mercedes‑Benz Tourismo M high-decker touring coaches. The three-axle touring coaches were handed over to Mario and Peter Rausch, Managing Directors of Rausch-Reisen Omnibustouristik GmbH, at the Daimler Buses Service Centre Neu‑Ulm on 25 November 2025 as part of a celebratory champagne reception by Hermann Fröhlich, Head of the Southwest Sales Region at Daimler Buses.
The bus company from Saxony-Anhalt, which specialises in one-day and multi-day trips throughout Europe, and Daimler Buses turned this handover into an attractive and experience‑rich day trip for customers of Rausch‑Reisen. Around 80 passengers took the opportunity to be the first to admire the new buses. As an additional incentive, there was the opportunity to take part in the champagne reception as well as a tour of the Daimler Buses plant in Neu-Ulm and a subsequent city tour of the Danube city. The journey to Neu-Ulm took place in the two existing Tourismo M vehicles from Rausch-Reisen, and the return journey to Zörbig, in the new Tourismo M touring coaches. The two used Tourismo M vehicles that the group travelled with were taken in payment by BusStore Neu-Ulm for resale.
“Safety, quality and long-term satisfaction with the touring coaches and the service of Daimler Buses were the decisive arguments for our family business to once again purchase two Tourismo M,” explained Mario Rausch. “We are convinced that our drivers and customers will value the high-end safety and comfort package that we can offer them in our new Tourismo M as they travel to their future destinations.”
“Rausch-Reisen has relied exclusively on touring coaches from Setra and Mercedes‑Benz for 35 years now. We are proud that the Rausch family sees the quality, safety and comfort of our buses as the basis for the success of their company,” said Hermann Fröhlich. “We will do everything we can to continue to meet these high expectations in the future with excellent buses, pioneering technologies and reliable service.”
The three-axle Tourismo M high-decker touring coaches with two entrance doors and actively steered trailing axle are painted in the striking Cosmos metallic red of Rausch-Reisen Omnibustouristik GmbH and feature graphic elements and the company’s brand logo in silver and anthracite. Each of the new vehicles has 16 rows of comfortable seats for a total of 53 passengers, all in the Mercedes‑Benz Travel Star Eco seating variant. The new Tourismo M meets the noise regulation UN ECE‑R 51/03 as well as the General Safety Regulation (GSR) of the European Union.
Safe and powerful
The new Tourismo M from Rausch-Reisen is equipped with a comprehensive safety package as well as a host of modern driver assistance systems. These include Brake Assist, adaptive cruise control with the emergency parking assistant Active Brake Assist 6, Lane Keeping Assist, the permanently active turning assistant Sidegard Assist 2, Frontguard Assist, Attention Assist, the intelligent speed assistant Traffic Sign Assist, a rain/light sensor, and the electronic level control system, which operates independently of the door status.
The Light and Sight Plus package ensures excellent visibility with headlights featuring dipped beam, high beam, daytime running lights, fog lights and cornering lights, as well as perimeter lights and ambient lighting in LED technology. It also includes the electrically heated windscreen and exterior mirrors, additional windscreen wipers at the top of the windscreen, emergency mirrors and a 360° camera system with integrated washer system for the rear camera, which enables the driver to have an unrestricted all-round view of the surrounding traffic area. In addition, the fuel package with the topography-dependent Predictive Powertrain Control cruise control, Eco Driver Feedback driving style assistant and Tyre Pressure Monitoring contributes to greater safety and to the reduction of fuel consumption.
The new Tourismo coaches are powered by the powerful and low-maintenance Mercedes‑Benz OM 470 Euro VI E engine with a displacement of 10.7 litres in the 335 kW (456 hp) output stage, which is combined with the comfortable and
smooth-shifting Mercedes‑Benz GO 250‑8 PowerShift eight-speed automated manual transmission.
Luxury comfort of the highest standard in the interior
The interior boasts an attractive ambience for the passengers to enjoy. A highlight are the seats which are upholstered in black, grey and red Softline fabric. They are adjustable on the aisle side and equipped with folding armrests, luggage nets, folding tables and footrests. Service sets with air vents and reading lights above each double seat ensure individual well-being. For the use of small electronic devices such as tablets, mobile phones, etc. 28 USB ports with charging function are available to passengers.
Convector heating in conjunction with the EvoCool Basic roof-mounted air‑conditioning system ensures comfortable temperatures for the passengers. It offers separate air conditioning for the driver’s workplace and ensures permanently clean air in the interior with active filters with an antiviral function. There is an
on-board toilet with flushing water in front of the central door. Behind the central door, the on-board kitchen supplies hot drinks and snacks during the journey. It is equipped with a coffee machine, water boiler, hot dog steamer, sink and drawers. Two refrigerators provide the passengers on board with cool drinks.
The two new Tourismo M buses from Rausch-Reisen are also ideally equipped for entertainment and communication: the Coach Infotainment multimedia system offers the latest generation of media use during journeys – from digital DAB+ radio reception to Bluetooth audio streaming, programme separation, satellite navigation and voice control.
The Comfort Plus cockpit with a leather multifunction steering wheel makes it easy for the driver to work. The two new Tourismo M models are equipped with the Bus Data Centre for use of the Omniplus On connectivity services.
