Növermann is celebrating its 100th anniversary by taking delivery of two Setra TopClass touring coaches. The two S 516 HDH models are each equipped with 48 seats featuring adjustable comfort headrests and carry the special “100 Years Edition” logo.

The two three‑axle coaches will be operated by sister company H.I.N.-Touristik GmbH as part of its travel program and will be used for day trips as well as multi‑day tours throughout Europe. 

Növermann was founded in 1926 by Paul Növermann as a transport company. In the early years, passengers were carried in converted trucks before the company put its first bus into service in 1934. Today, Növermann is one of the leading passenger transport and tourism providers in the greater Düsseldorf area. Alongside a broad portfolio of leisure travel offerings, the tradition‑rich company—managed by business graduate Oliver Graf since 2015—also operates shuttle services to the Düsseldorf trade fair center.

New S 516 HDH for Friedrich Gross

The new S 516 HDH delivered to Friedrich Gross has been given the name “Friedrich.” With this dedication, the Heilbronn‑based company honors the man who founded the business 100 years ago. As part of the anniversary celebrations, the operator took delivery of the new Setra TopClass touring coach, which is equipped with 48 passenger seats and a panoramic glass roof.

The vehicle will be used for charter services, VIP transfers, and tours from the company’s own travel program. It features the latest driver assistance and safety systems from Setra, including the state‑of‑the‑art Active Brake Assist 6 (ABA 6) emergency braking system, which can detect moving pedestrians ahead of the vehicle and initiate autonomous emergency braking.

When master wheelwright Friedrich Gross began offering his first excursion trips to nearby Wartberg in 1926, he laid the foundation for what would become a highly successful bus company. By the late 1920s, the business was already organizing its first international tours to Tyrol, northern Switzerland, and Alsace. Today, the company—also active in scheduled services—relies exclusively on Setra touring coaches. In addition, a modern service center for buses and trucks is located at the central depot in Talheim near Heilbronn.

Stewa Touristik celebrates 100 years with two new S 531 DT

To mark its 100th anniversary, Stewa Touristik has taken delivery of two new Setra S 531 DT double‑deck coaches, further rejuvenating Germany’s largest Setra bistro coach fleet. The company, based in Kleinostheim in Lower Franconia, is adding a total of four new double‑deck coaches to its fleet this year and now operates 25 Setra touring coaches.

The vehicles feature a panoramic roof and have been awarded the 5‑Star Superior rating by the German Bus Comfort Association (Gütegemeinschaft Buskomfort e.V.). The upper deck offers 48 passenger seats with an extended seat pitch of four centimeters beyond the 5‑star requirement, along with additional seat padding and adjustable neck, head, and calf supports.

On the lower deck, passengers can enjoy an elegantly designed bistro lounge with 16 full‑leather seats arranged at four face‑to‑face tables—the signature feature of the tour operator.

Stewa Touristik GmbH is one of the leading coach tour operators in the Rhine‑Main region, offering a diverse portfolio of experiential, sightseeing, and educational tours, as well as spa, wellness, and hiking trips. The company was founded in 1926 by Edmund Stenger as a car rental business. In 1977, the company purchased its first three Setra high‑deck coaches, followed in 1984 by its first Setra double‑deck coaches, the S 228 DT model from Ulm.
