Leinfelden‑Echterdingen / Anklam – Omniplus, the service brand of Daimler Buses, has opened a new service point in Anklam, Mecklenburg‑Western Pomerania. Daimler Buses has taken over the existing Omniplus workshop operation from Anklamer Verkehrsgesellschaft AVG, extensively renovated it and expanded it in line with the high requirements for its own service operations. The site began operational service at the start of 2026. The Omniplus Service Center Berlin, the largest and most modern Omniplus location in Europe, is supporting the Anklam site during the ramp‑up. With this new service location, Omniplus strengthens customer support in the region of Mecklenburg‑Western Pomerania and strategically expands its presence in northeastern Germany. As part of the company’s transformation, Daimler Buses continues to invest in its own service network in Germany, creating additional service capacities for its customers.
Mirko Sgodda, Head of Marketing, Sales and Customer Services Daimler Buses: “The new Omniplus site in Anklam is exemplary of our strategy to consistently expand Europe’s largest service network for buses precisely where our customers need it. With every new location, we send a clear signal: Omniplus stands for reliability, proximity and expertise – across Europe.”
Comprehensive Omniplus service portfolio
The Anklam service point offers the full Omniplus range of services for Mercedes‑Benz and Setra buses. In addition to repair and maintenance, the offering includes sales of new and used vehicles, bodywork services, and tire service. A dedicated inspection lane is available for technical tests, where safety inspections (SP), general inspections (HU), and tachograph calibrations can be carried out directly on site. This saves bus operators long trips to external inspection stations. In addition, the site will in future be qualified as an e‑bus service location for the maintenance and repair of electric buses and will be equipped with the corresponding high‑voltage tools.
The Anklam facility covers a total area of 14,000 square meters. The modern workshop hall offers space for seven vehicles at the same time. An in‑house vehicle wash facility and a tire service complete the on‑site offering. A solar power system on the roof underscores Daimler Buses’ commitment to sustainable and resource‑efficient operations.
Competent support for regional and supra‑regional bus customers
Anklam is considered the gateway to the Baltic Sea island of Usedom, an important vacation region and popular bus travel destination. With the new Omniplus service point, bus customers in the region now have a reliable partner nearby with short travel distances. Bus operators and drivers from other regions can also rely on fast and competent support in the event of a malfunction or damage.
Omniplus: the densest service network for buses in Europe
With more than 600 service points, Omniplus offers the densest service network for buses in Europe. Service points are categorized into the performance levels BusWorld, BusPort, and BusPoint. The highest performance level is provided by BusWorld service points, including the Daimler Buses Service Centers. They are characterized by maximum parts availability, participation in the Omniplus 24h Service, special tools for bus‑specific repairs, and extended opening hours.
