Leinfelden-Echterdingen/Wörth – Mercedes-Benz Trucks recently handed over the first of three new Mercedes-Benz Arocs Extent trucks to MTB GmbH in Nordstemmen, Lower Saxony. The special model, limited to just 100 units, was developed specifically for demanding construction site transport applications and combines robust construction with state-of-the-art technology and a distinctive design in dark chrome and matt weather gray.
“With the Arocs Extent, our drivers get vehicles that not only offer maximum functionality, but also make a clear statement. And the design is simply brilliant,” says Mayk Taherian, Managing Director of MTB GmbH. This is a special moment for the family-run company from Lower Saxony: the three vehicles (Arocs 1853 LS, 1843 AK, and 2553 LK) are the first trucks over 7.5 tons in the fleet and also mark the start of a new partnership.
Exclusive special model with striking details
Special features include a front flap with integrated “Arocs” lettering in elegant dark chrome, LED headlights with additional headlights in the sun visor, and decorative elements in a carbon look. Stainless steel components such as axle caps and wheel nut caps underscore the high-quality workmanship.
Powerful engine options
The vehicles are available with a choice of Euro VI diesel engines: OM 470, OM 471 (3rd generation) or the powerful OM 473 – all of which are designed for heavy-duty use and high efficiency.
The first vehicle delivered to MTB GmbH is powered by the OM 473. The inline six-cylinder engine has a displacement of 15.6 liters and 460 kW (625 hp). The high torque ensures superior power delivery even under heavy loads on construction sites. For maximum efficiency, a common rail injection system with X-Pulse pressure boost up to a maximum pressure of 2,700 bar and turbo compound technology are used to utilize additional exhaust energy.
Multimedia Cockpit Interactive 2 comes as standard
The new system includes a high-resolution 12-inch instrument display and an optimized touchscreen for intuitive control of many vehicle functions at the touch of a button or voice command – including direct access to construction-specific options such as auxiliary drives and advanced truck navigation with Predictive Powertrain Control (PPC).
