Leinfelden-Echterdingen - Daimler Truck and Girteka further expand their cooperation: At IAA Transportation in Hanover, the two companies reached an agreement for the delivery of 900 new Mercedes-Benz Actros L ProCabin trucks. The vehicles are scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2027 and will further contribute to the modernization of Girteka’s fleet. In 2026, Girteka had already integrated 500 Mercedes-Benz Actros L ProCabin trucks into its fleet.

With around 6,500 trucks of its own, Girteka is one of the largest privately owned transportation companies in Europe. For a fleet of this size, continuous fleet renewal is a key lever for promoting high levels of reliability, safety, efficiency and service standards in operations across Europe over the long term.

Optimized Cab Design and Aerodynamics

The newly designed Actros L ProCabin has been consistently engineered with a focus on aerodynamics and efficiency in long-haul transport. An 80 mm longer front end, optimized transitions and aerodynamically refined body components improve airflow and can support the economical operation of large fleets.

Safety Assistance Systems for Enhanced Safety

The vehicles are equipped with Active Brake Assist, which combines radar and camera data. Within system limits, it can detect vehicles driving ahead, stationary vehicles and crossing vehicles, and can automatically apply full braking down to a standstill. Active Sideguard Assist 2 monitors the areas alongside the vehicle and can warn of objects approaching from the side. When turning, the system can independently initiate automated braking on the co-driver's side if necessary. In addition, Predictive Powertrain Control uses topographical data and route information to support anticipatory and efficient driving.

Digital Operating Concept

All vehicles are equipped with the Multimedia Cockpit Interactive 2. A high-resolution 12-inch instrument display and an optimized touchscreen enable intuitive operation of key vehicle functions. In addition, numerous functions can be adjusted using voice control.

About the Segment Mercedes-Benz Trucks 

Mercedes-Benz Trucks, a business unit of Daimler Truck AG led by Achim Puchert, is responsible for the Group’s global truck business outside North America and includes operations of the truck brands Mercedes-Benz and BharatBenz. The Mercedes-Benz Trucks product range extends from heavy-duty long-haul trucks and 8-ton trucks for urban distribution to trucks for special applications. Mercedes-Benz Trucks has its own international sales and service network, which is constantly being developed.
