Stuttgart / Sao Bernardo do Campo – Mercedes-Benz do Brasil has received an order for 121 urban buses to modernise the bus fleets of several operators in Curitiba, the capital of the southern Brazilian state of Paraná. The buses will help to update the bus fleets and will be used within the collective transport system of Curitiba. Delivery of the buses should be completed by February 2019.

Over the year, the bus market in Brazil has continued to recover. Mercedes-Benz has been able to further assert its market leadership. Between January and October 2018, Daimler Buses achieved a market share of around 55 per cent in the segment for buses with a permissible maximum weight of over 8 tonnes. In the first ten months of 2018, total sales by Daimler Buses in Brazil (without Mexico) increased by around 18 percent to 7200 chassis compared with the same period last year.
