With battery-electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles, highly efficient diesel technology, safety assistance functions, digital solutions, services and autonomous driving, the company is demonstrating how it continues to drive the industry forward and provide comprehensive support to customers in their daily operations.

Daimler Truck’s progress in zero-emission trucks is particularly evident. Mercedes-Benz Trucks remains the clear market leader in Europe with around 38 percent market share in heavy-duty and medium-duty locally CO₂-free trucks during the first half of 2026. The battery-electric Mercedes-Benz eActros 600, the company’s electric flagship which achieves a range of up to 560 kilometers(1) in its most energy-efficient configuration at a gross combination weight of 40 tons, has already covered more than 160 million kilometers in customer operations since its market launch at the end of 2024.
At the same time, the hydrogen-powered GenH2 Trucks have already completed almost 600,000 kilometers in customer trials.

Daimler Truck’s message: CO₂-free transportation is already working today in many long-haul applications. With the new Mercedes-Benz eActros Lowliner, which is celebrating its public debut at IAA Transportation, Mercedes-Benz Trucks is expanding its battery-electric portfolio with another important application for high-volume transport. At the same time, content creator and professional truck driver Tobias Wagner, known as the “Elektrotrucker,” is launching what is likely the most ambitious real-world trial of a battery-electric long-haul truck to date at IAA Transportation: he plans to cover around 45,000 kilometers through around 30 countries in an eActros 600.

Daimler Truck is also taking the next step toward series production in hydrogen-based transportation. Following extensive customer testing, the company is preparing the introduction of the NextGenH2 Truck, which will celebrate its public debut at IAA Transportation. The first vehicle from the 100-truck small series is scheduled to enter customer operations by the end of the year. Customer interest is strong: Nearly half of the small series has already been assigned to customers, despite the refueling infrastructure still being limited. Daimler Truck invests a mid-three-digit million euro amount in hydrogen trucks by the end of the decade.

At the same time, Daimler Truck is working together with leading industrial and energy companies to advance the development of a powerful and economically viable hydrogen ecosystem. The companies plan to announce further information on Tuesday, September 15, at IAA Transportation.

All these advances demonstrate that CO₂-free road freight transport is already a technological reality. Battery-electric trucks can already be deployed reliably and economically in a growing number of customer applications. However, scaling their adoption continues to be significantly constrained by the expansion of Europe's charging infrastructure and by insufficient energy supply, particularly at competitive prices. As a result, customer demand is not yet developing at the pace required by current regulations. This is creating a growing gap between ambitious policy objectives and actual market conditions. Put simply: regulation and reality are not aligned.

Therefore, the internal combustion engine remains relevant for many customers. Mercedes-Benz Trucks is presenting the new powertrain at IAA Transportation. The interaction between engine, transmission and axle delivers greater efficiency, higher performance and lower operating costs.

In addition, the company is expanding its portfolio in the field of active safety with new assistance systems. Active Cross Traffic Assist and Active Side Guard Assist 3 support drivers in particularly critical traffic situations and set new standards for safety in heavy-duty commercial vehicle transportation.

Beyond new vehicles and safety technologies, Daimler Truck is also consistently driving forward the digitalization of the truck. With a new Fleetboard product world, the My TruckPoint Store, and expanded connectivity services, Mercedes-Benz Trucks is building an integrated digital ecosystem for transparent, predictable, and efficient fleet operations.

Another focus of the digitalization strategy is the development of autonomous transport solutions together with the subsidiary Torc. The current focus is on long-haul transportation in the United States, where autonomous driving has the potential to significantly improve productivity, safety and economics. The first driverless operations on public roads are scheduled to take place this year. Following the ongoing testing, commercial applications are expected to begin as early as 2027, with scaling planned from 2028 onward.

At IAA Transportation, Mercedes-Benz Trucks is presenting the “130 Years Trucks Edition,” commemorating Gottlieb Daimler’s invention of the first truck in 1896. Limited to 400 vehicles, the special edition is based on the ProCabin and is the first edition model from the brand to be available both with a diesel powertrain and as a battery-electric truck. Around 30 special equipment features, including historic design elements, the “History Sketch” livery and a premium interior, combine the brand’s heritage with the requirements of long-haul transportation.

The Mercedes-Benz Trucks presence in Hall 19/20 serves as the central starting point for an extensive experience program at IAA Transportation. Ride-alongs and customer test drives in selected Mercedes-Benz Trucks vehicles will depart from here. The test routes lead across the exhibition grounds and partly on public roads, allowing visitors to experience the vehicles under real operating conditions.

Daimler Truck, together with Milence, the joint venture between Daimler Truck, the Volvo Group and the TRATON GROUP, will take part in demonstrations of the Megawatt Charging System (MCS), a high-performance charging solution for electric trucks, in Hall 14/15. The charging process will be demonstrated live once a day at 10:00 a.m.

Another highlight is the daily Mercedes-Benz Trucks Show from Tuesday through Friday. During this dynamic vehicle presentation, Mercedes-Benz Trucks experts will showcase selected commercial vehicles in operation, ranging from historic classics to the latest models featuring different drive technologies. The show combines fascinating insights into 130 years of commercial vehicle history with a look toward the future of transportation.

New Addition to the Electric Truck Portfolio: The eActros Lowliner

Mercedes-Benz Trucks is presenting the new eActros Lowliner to a broad audience for the first time. The vehicle addresses the growing demand for CO₂ -free transportation solutions in the high-volume long-haul logistics segment. The new models will be available for order in the EU30 markets as well as in additional international markets from the third quarter of 2026. Series production at the Mercedes-Benz Wörth plant will begin in the second quarter of 2027.

Achim Puchert: "With the eActros Lowliner, we are bringing the proven and powerful battery and drive technology of the eActros 600 into another important transport segment. The combination of classic lowliner vehicle concept and our battery-electric technology approach enable our customers to perform high-volume transport tasks economically and locally CO₂-free in the future. In doing so, we are consistently expanding our electric truck portfolio in line with customer requirements and further advancing the electrification of long-haul transport."

The eActros Lowliner is offered as a 4x2 tractor unit with a 4,000 mm wheelbase and a 2.50-meter-wide cab. It provides fifth-wheel heights and ground clearance comparable to diesel trucks. This allows mega trailers to comply with legally permitted overall vehicle heights while offering a maximum interior height of up to three meters for volume-intensive transportation. The low fifth-wheel height has been achieved through an optimized integration of the battery packs.

The technological highlights of the eActros Lowliner include the proven electric drive axle, lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cell technology and an 800-volt electrical architecture. These are complemented by the Multimedia Cockpit Interactive 2 and comprehensive safety assistance systems(2).

The eActros Lowliner is available with either two or three LFP battery packs, each with 207 kWh(3) of installed capacity. The eActros 600 Lowliner offers a range of around 500 kilometers(4) at full load.

The eActros 400 Lowliner with two battery packs features a lower vehicle weight and therefore offers higher payload capacity than the eActros 600 Lowliner equipped with three battery packs. As a result of the weight reduction, maximum payload increases to around 24 tons compared with approximately 21 tons for the eActros 600 Lowliner.

Like all eActros variants, the eActros Lowliner can be charged at up to 400 kW via the standard CCS2 charging socket on the left-hand side of the vehicle. With two battery packs, charging from 10 to 80 percent takes approximately 46 minutes(5); with three battery packs, charging time is around 70 minutes(5). In addition to CCS charging, both eActros Lowliner variants with two and three battery packs will also support charging via the Megawatt Charging System (MCS) in the future. This functionality will become available during the second half of 2027 and will enable charging times of less than 30 minutes(6).

Like the other vehicles in the eActros portfolio, the Lowliner uses the electric axle from the eActros 600, featuring two electric motors and a four-speed transmission. The motors deliver a continuous output of 400 kW and a peak output of 600 kW. Through predictive driving and recuperation, energy can be recovered and stored in the batteries for later use.

The Lowliner also features Predictive Powertrain Control, the cruise-control and transmission-control system specifically optimized for electric drivetrains. It automatically considers topography, road layout and traffic signs to maximize efficiency.

The futuristic ProCabin of the Lowliner has been developed for highly efficient aerodynamics in order to reduce energy consumption.

“Around the World in 80 Charges” with the eActros 600

Professional truck driver and content creator Tobias Wagner will set off directly from IAA Transportation in his specially modified Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 on an extraordinary adventure around the globe. With a maximum of 80 charging stops, he aims to become the first person to circumnavigate the world in a battery-electric long-haul truck. The expedition is expected to take him through about 30 countries across five continents over the course of approximately one year, covering a planned distance of around 45,000 kilometers.

The journey will begin in Germany and take Wagner through Southeast Europe via the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia and Bulgaria before reaching Turkey and Asia. From there, the route is planned to continue through Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan to China. Travelling onward through Laos, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia, Wagner aims to reach Singapore by the end of January. Further stages are planned through Australia, the United States, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil, before the expedition returns to Europe. Along the way, Wagner will travel through regions with highly developed charging infrastructure as well as areas where the conditions for battery-electric road freight transport are still emerging.

At the heart of the expedition lies the question of how effectively battery-electric long-haul transport can already operate under real-world conditions. The journey is intended to demonstrate the capabilities of modern electric trucks on long-distance routes, gather practical experience across a wide range of operating environments and highlight where further progress in infrastructure and regulatory conditions is still needed. In doing so, the project aims to provide fresh momentum for the transformation of road freight transport and the continued expansion of charging infrastructure.

Through regular updates from the road, Tobias Wagner will share his experiences with customers, drivers and the wider public. The world tour is therefore intended not only to showcase the everyday practicality of battery-electric long-haul transport technology, but also to contribute to the broader discussion about the future of CO₂-free road freight transport.

eActros 600 Surpasses 160 Million Kilometers in Customer Operations Across Europe

Mercedes-Benz Trucks has achieved a significant milestone with the battery-electric eActros 600 long-haul truck: since the start of series production at the end of 2024, customer vehicles have covered more than 160 million CO₂-free kilometers across Europe. The analysis is based on anonymized telematics data from the digital TruckLive service. The data demonstrates that the eActros 600 is proving itself in real-world applications and that battery-electric long-haul transportation is increasingly scaling into everyday operations. Already today, 50 percent of all daily mileage exceeds 400 kilometers, while around 20 percent exceeds 600 kilometers.

This clearly shows that customers are productively integrating the eActros 600 into existing logistics processes and that increasingly robust business cases for electric long-haul transportation are emerging. At the same time, the data provides valuable insights into typical operating profiles, mileage patterns and charging behavior, enabling Mercedes-Benz Trucks to further align its products and digital services with customer requirements.

TruckCharge: Charging as an Integrated End-to-End Solution

With TruckCharge, Daimler Truck continues to expand its electromobility offering and supports customers in building and operating charging infrastructure. The offering includes consulting, planning, hardware, operations and digital services, supporting companies throughout the electrification of their fleets. Together with the digital services from Mercedes-Benz Trucks, TruckCharge creates an integrated ecosystem that connects vehicles, charging infrastructure and fleet operations.

Through the TruckCharge Network, Daimler Truck is also expanding access to charging infrastructure for electric trucks. This includes so-called semi-public charging locations that are operated by companies and made available to additional users. In this way, the network contributes to the continuous expansion of charging-point availability for heavy-duty road freight transportation.

At the same time, Daimler Truck and its charging infrastructure joint venture Milence are driving the simplification of public charging: with Seamless Charging enabled by Autocharge, charging sessions can in future be started and billed automatically following a one-time installation process, without requiring drivers to use a charging card or app. With that, it is sufficient to connect the vehicle to the charging station; vehicle identification takes place automatically. Digital solutions such as Fleetboard Charge provide transparency regarding charging status, charging processes and vehicle readiness while supporting efficient charging management both at the depot and on the road.

NextGenH2 Truck: The Hydrogen Highlight of IAA Transportation

The Mercedes-Benz NextGenH2 Truck will be Daimler Truck’s flagship hydrogen-powered vehicle at IAA Transportation in September. The fuel-cell truck represents the next stage of development on the path toward hydrogen-based long-haul transportation and has been consistently designed for future series production. The NextGenH2 Truck continues to rely on liquid hydrogen and the proven BZA150 fuel cell from cellcentric, which has already demonstrated its reliability and efficiency under real-world conditions in the first-generation vehicle. At the same time, the vehicle receives a comprehensive technology update featuring current production components already used in the battery-electric Mercedes-Benz eActros 600. These include the aerodynamically improved ProCabin, the latest generation of the integrated electric axle, the modern Multimedia Cockpit Interactive 2 and safety and assistance systems based on the latest electrical/electronic architecture. The NextGenH2 Truck utilizes liquid hydrogen, enabling ranges well in excess of 1,000 kilometers on a single refueling while offering short refueling times and high suitability for heavy-duty long-haul operations. Daimler Truck is also taking the next step toward series operation in hydrogen-based transportation. Following extensive customer testing, the company is preparing the introduction of the NextGenH2 Truck, which will celebrate its public debut at IAA Transportation.

From the end of 2026, Daimler Truck plans to deploy a small series of around 100 Mercedes‑Benz NextGenH2 Trucks in real-world customer operations in Germany. The first customer is logistics service provider Dachser. Starting at the end of 2026, one liquid-hydrogen fuel-cell tractor unit will initially be deployed in daily operations, followed by two additional identical vehicles by mid-2027. Based at Dachser’s Karlsruhe logistics center, the fuel-cell trucks will primarily be used in long-haul transport operations and integrated into existing national and international logistics networks.

In addition to the proven fuel-cell technology, customers such as Dachser will benefit from targeted enhancements designed to improve operational capability. For example, a more compact arrangement of components and the resulting shorter wheelbase provide greater compatibility with standard trailers. A new sensor system, which responds to the highly unlikely event of hydrogen leakage, now allows overnight stays in the truck’s two standard beds fitted in the cab. This increases comfort and flexible usability of the truck, especially for long-haul drivers on multi-day assignments. As a result, the NextGenH2 Truck has been consistently designed around the requirements of day-to-day transport operations and complements battery-electric trucks, particularly in applications where flexibility and long range are required.

EU 2030 CO₂ Targets: Regulation and Reality Must Align

Daimler Truck is committed to the decarbonization of transport and, like the rest of the European commercial vehicle industry, has brought a broad portfolio of battery-electric vehicles into series production. However, market adoption is progressing too slowly to meet the European Commission’s climate targets, which call for a 43 percent reduction in CO₂ emissions for new heavy-duty commercial vehicles by 2030 compared with 2019. As a result, manufacturers face potentially existential penalty payments, as most European markets still lack both a comprehensive energy supply, particularly at competitive prices, and the necessary infrastructure for these vehicles. Accordingly, the market share of heavy-duty battery-electric trucks in Europe was only two percent in 2025. To achieve the 43 percent target, however, around 35 percent of all newly registered trucks in Europe would need to be battery-electric or hydrogen-powered by 2030.

For Mercedes-Benz Trucks, every percentage point by which the targets are missed translates into approximately 120 million euros in penalty payments. If the targets were missed by, for example, 10 percentage points, the Mercedes-Benz Trucks segment would no longer make any money based on its 2025 results.

Daimler Truck is therefore calling for an early review of the CO₂ regulation, under which the targets would be aligned with real-world conditions, namely the availability of infrastructure and customers’ total cost of ownership.

Powerliner: New Powertrain Generation for Greater Efficiency and Performance

With Powerliner, Mercedes-Benz Trucks is presenting a new generation of the conventional powertrain at IAA Transportation. Developed as an integrated system comprising the engine, transmission and axle, the powertrain concept combines further improvements in fuel efficiency with greater power, higher torque and an even better driving experience. The technical innovations include a new combustion concept, optimized turbochargers, new transmission generations and a powertrain strategy consistently designed for low engine speeds. The result is fuel savings of up to four percent, lower operating costs as well as improved pulling power and drivability in daily operations.

In addition, the new engine generation, consisting of OM 470 and OM 471, will also be used in Daimler Buses vehicles in the future. With Powerliner, Mercedes-Benz Trucks underscores the continued importance of modern diesel powertrains for applications in which range, economic efficiency, robustness and maximum operational flexibility will remain crucial requirements in the future. At the same time, the new powertrain generation contributes to further improving the efficiency of road freight transport through reduced fuel consumption and lower CO₂ emissions. It was also developed with future regulatory requirements in mind and provides the technological foundation for future improvements in emissions and efficiency.

Powerliner is part of a global heavy-duty engine platform from Daimler Truck, which also forms the basis for the new Detroit Gen 6 engine family for the North American market. Through this technology approach spanning brands and regions, Daimler Truck leverages economies of scale and jointly develops key powertrain components for different applications around the world. The new OM 470 and OM 471 engines will be produced at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Mannheim. From April 2027, the new powertrain generation will be available in all Mercedes-Benz Actros and Arocs.

Actros L and eActros 600 as Anniversary Editions: “Legacy Meets Passion” for 130 Years

With the “130 Years Trucks Edition”, Mercedes-Benz Trucks is marking the 130th anniversary of the truck at IAA Transportation. Under the guiding theme “Legacy Meets Passion”, the company is also paying tribute to customers and drivers who share a special connection with the brand and its vehicles.

The special edition transfers selected elements from the brand’s history to current long-haul trucks. Historic design elements are combined with the ProCabin and an interior that brings together workplace, living space and storage.

For the first time, Mercedes-Benz Trucks is offering an edition model with both a diesel and a battery-electric powertrain. The edition is based on the Actros L and the eActros 600 respectively, thereby building a bridge between the truck’s 130-year history of development and the transformation of road freight transport.

Mercedes-Benz Trucks is limiting the “130 Years Trucks Edition” to 400 vehicles worldwide. Around 30 special exterior and interior equipment features distinguish the anniversary model.

New and Enhanced Safety Assistance Systems for Trucks and Coaches

With new and enhanced safety assistance systems(2), Daimler Truck is expanding the support available to drivers in particularly demanding traffic situations. The focus is on the new Active Cross Traffic Assist(7), which can support drivers when a risk of collision with fast-moving crossing vehicles or motorcycles is detected, as well as Active Sideguard Assist 3(8), which completes the active support provided by the turning assistance system on both sides of the vehicle and, for the first time, also includes a function for turns across the driver’s side(9) with automated braking support.

Daimler Truck is also presenting the enhanced Active Drive Assist 3(10) for partially automated driving in all Mercedes-Benz Actros. The new features include the rapid deactivation of steering assistance functions via a button on the steering wheel, the storage of individual driver settings and an enhanced active lane-centering function.

The portfolio is complemented by the camera-based Attention Assist 2(11), which can detect signs of distraction, fatigue or possible microsleep and warn drivers. The new and enhanced systems have been developed for different applications in freight and passenger transport and, within their respective system limits, can support truck and coach drivers through warnings, braking interventions or assisted driving functions.

Daimler Buses Modernizes its Coach Portfolio

From 2027, Daimler Buses will equip its coaches with the new engine generation and new transmissions. The technology will be used in the Setra ComfortClass, TopClass and double-decker models as well as in the Mercedes-Benz Travego, Tourismo and Tourrider models. Depending on the model and vehicle configuration, fuel consumption is expected to decrease by up to six percent. A new electronics architecture will also provide the basis for additional safety and assistance systems. These include Active Sideguard Assist 3(10) and Cross Traffic Assist(7).

Till Oberwörder, CEO Daimler Buses: "With the new engine generation and the enhanced safety assistance systems(2), Daimler Truck is underscoring its innovative strength. Our buses also benefit from these developments. This demonstrates how we leverage synergies across the Group and rapidly bring new technologies to different vehicle segments for the benefit of our customers." 

In addition, Daimler Buses is redesigning the driver’s workplace in its coaches. The new “Multimedia Cockpit Interactive” is intended to reduce the workload for drivers in their daily work. A main display and a touchscreen bring together trip data, fuel consumption and other vehicle data. 
Selected functions can also be controlled by voice command. New digital services expand the system’s range of functions to include, for example, up-to-date traffic information, automated map updates and connected traffic warnings. Ergonomically arranged controls as well as compartments and storage spaces further enhance the driver’s workplace.

Digital Services: Expanding the Integrated Digital Ecosystem

Mercedes-Benz Trucks is consistently expanding its digital offering and connecting vehicles, fleet management, connectivity, vehicle data and service even more closely. With the new Fleetboard product portfolio, customers gain access to solutions for vehicle and fleet transparency, data analysis, compliance, charging management and proactive vehicle diagnostics. This enables Mercedes-Benz Trucks to support transport companies in using their vehicles efficiently, simplifying operational processes and increasing vehicle availability.

The offering is complemented by the new My TruckPoint Store, through which digital services will be available to book and manage online in the future. At the same time, Mercedes-Benz Trucks is continuing to develop its TruckLive connectivity offering and expanding the support available to drivers and fleet operators with additional digital functions.

The digital ecosystem begins in the vehicle itself and can subsequently be expanded according to individual requirements. In this way, Mercedes-Benz Trucks connects vehicles, fleet management, connectivity, data offerings and proactive service throughout the entire vehicle lifecycle.

Daimler Truck Financial Services: Integrated Service Solutions for the Transition to CO₂-Free Transport

At IAA Transportation 2026, Daimler Truck Financial Services (DTFS) is presenting its integrated service ecosystem as a central component of Daimler Truck’s service strategy. DTFS is evolving from a pure financial services provider into a full-service provider that combines vehicles, infrastructure, digital services and financing in integrated solutions from a single source.

The portfolio includes flexible financing and leasing options, insurance, service bundles, and innovative offerings such as Daimler Truck Pay for digital payment processes.  With Mercedes-Benz CharterWay Daimler Truck Financial Services, is positioning itself as a provider of flexible and comprehensive transport solutions. Around 200 Mercedes-Benz eActros trucks in the rental fleet are already making it easier for customers to enter e-mobility with reduced risk, while the expansion of the rental business into Italy and Spain provides flexible access to vehicles and services in additional markets.

For the first time, DTFS is also integrated into My TruckPoint, enabling fleet managers to centrally manage vehicle data, financing and service contracts as well as digital services such as Fleetboard through a single portal.

Daimler Truck Defence: Global Strength for Defence Mobility

With the launch of the new global brand Daimler Truck Defence, Daimler Truck is consolidating its global defence activities and consistently aligning the business for global growth. Over the coming years, the company will invest a mid-three-digit million euro amount in expanding its development, production, sales, and service capabilities and aims to achieve defence business revenue of one billion euros by 2028.

Daimler Truck Defence brings together the strength of the group’s global technology, production, and service network under one roof. Customers gain access to a broad portfolio of military mobility and logistics solutions, as well as to the industrial capabilities and resilient supply chains of one of the world’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers. The strategy envisions gradually expanding the offering beyond Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks vehicles and making additional vehicle portfolios and brands from Daimler Truck available for military applications.

Through the close integration of civilian series production and military expertise, Daimler Truck Defence can fulfill orders quickly, at high quality, and in large volumes. With a global service and support network of around 3,000 workshops in more than 150 countries, the company can support armed forces worldwide with high-performance mobility solutions and comprehensive assistance throughout the entire vehicle life cycle. (1) The estimated range is derived from the results of internal simulations as well as real driving tests. The actual range may deviate from the estimated range as a result of numerous factors, such as topography, weather conditions, speed, preconditioning, auxiliary consumers, individual vehicle configuration and driving style.
(2)  Driver assistance systems can only support drivers. Responsibility for safe vehicle operation always remains fully with the driver.
(3) Nominal capacity of a new battery, based on internally defined boundary conditions. This may vary depending on the application and ambient conditions. 
(4) The range was determined internally under specific test conditions, after preconditioning with a 4x2 tractor unit with a 40 tons total towing weight at 20°C outside temperature in long-haul operation and may deviate from the values determined in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2017/2400.
(5) The charging time is based on the conditions defined for heavy duty trucks in ISO/SAE 12906 – with 400 kW charging power at a standard DC fast-charging station with 500 A.

(7) Active Cross Traffic Assist: weather conditions, visibility, road layout, tight curve radii, and sensor areas that are dirty, damaged, obstructed, or not fully visible may affect detection performance. The system may not respond to objects outside the defined lateral detection areas, certain slow-moving objects, or animals. Detecting an object at a given speed does not mean that the system can provide timely warnings or braking interventions under all conditions.
(8) Active Sideguard Assist 3: available warning and braking support depends on the specific subfunction, vehicle speed, detected traffic situation, and system limits. Obstructions, object position and direction of movement, weather and visibility conditions, as well as sensor-related limitations, may affect detection performance. The system does not detect all persons or objects under all conditions.
(9) Turning across the driver’s side: The detection of oncoming vehicles at speeds of up to 120 km/h and the possible braking intervention at vehicle speeds between 0 and 20 km/h describe different functional parameters. No general conclusion can therefore be drawn regarding the avoidance of a collision.
(10) Active Drive Assist 3: Active Drive Assist 3 is a level 2 system. Drivers must continuously monitor traffic conditions, remain ready to take over vehicle control, and keep their hands on the steering wheel. Among other requirements, lateral guidance support depends on the system detecting the lane and relevant lane markings. The system is initially available for the Actros.
(11) Attention Assist 2: The system does not provide a medical diagnosis and does not definitively determine fatigue, distraction, or a medical condition. A warning does not necessarily mean that the driver is actually fatigued or distracted. The absence of a warning does not mean that the driver is attentive or fit to drive. Attention Assist 2 does not replace the driver’s own assessment of fitness to drive or compliance with legally required driving and rest periods.
