Leinfelden-Echterdingen – Daimler Truck Financial Services (DTFS) transitions from traditional finance to full-service vehicle solutions. DTFS and GEICO are now offering connected insurance that uses real-time telematics data for commercial trucking policies in the USA. Owner-operators and small fleets with Freightliner and Western Star trucks can save up to 10% on premiums by sharing driver data that is leveraged to reward safe driving.
“Connected Insurance is another key step in our transformation,” said Stephan Unger, CEO Daimler Truck Financial Services. “By intelligently leveraging connected vehicle data, we create value for our customers – through efficiency gains, possible cost savings and enhanced safety.”
“Real-time data from Daimler Truck’s telematics platform allows us to better assess risk, reward safe driving, and deliver meaningful savings to our customers,” said Chris Sions, GEICO’s head of partnerships. “Expanding our commercial trucking insurance nationwide requires strong partnerships like the one we’ve built with Daimler Truck Financial Services.”
The product launch aligns with Daimler Truck’s corporate focus on Customer Centric Solutions Powerhouse, by incorporating connectivity features into product offerings and value-added services across different regions. As DTFS continues to innovate, it will explore additional ways to apply connected vehicle data across its financial services portfolio.
