Leinfelden-Echterdingen/Jacksonville, FL. - On February 10, Daimler Coaches North America (DCNA) inaugurated its new U.S. headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida. DCNA is a subsidiary of Daimler Buses, the bus division of Daimler Truck AG. The new facility, spanning more than 43,000 square feet, includes pre-delivery inspection, a large repair, maintenance and service center, an administrative building, and a dedicated training and delivery center for customers and service partners. The event was attended by Christofer Burger, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Miami.
Till Oberwörder, CEO of Daimler Buses, emphasized the strategic importance of the U.S. market during the grand opening ceremony: “The Jacksonville headquarters is a symbol of our long-term commitment to the U.S. market, in which we are investing for the future. We are here to stay and aim to foster shared success through investments in local jobs and partnerships. This milestone represents our promise to support operators and partners for decades to come while strengthening the Mercedes-Benz Tourrider as the benchmark for innovation and reliability in the motorcoach segment.”

The New Daimler Coaches North America Headquarters
The new center features a cutting-edge Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) and service facility, secured parking for more than 100 motorcoaches, a modern training center for technicians and operators, and corporate offices serving as the control hub for Daimler Coaches North America’s U.S. operations. The site, which also showcases pre-owned coaches, is strategically located west of Interstate 295 on a 12-acre property. After the opening, the number of employees will increase by approximately 45%.
In Jacksonville each Mercedes-Benz Tourrider–developed exclusively for U.S. operators-undergoes a comprehensive Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) to ensure Mercedes-Benz quality standards before delivery. This three-axle high-deck motorcoach integrates advanced safety systems, premium comfort, and Mercedes-Benz build quality that address real-world challenges and deliver measurable value. The Mercedes-Benz Tourrider with a length of 45 feet has 56 to 60 passenger seats depending on the configuration. At the heart of the drive system used exclusively in coaches for North America is the inline 6-cylinder Mercedes-Benz OM 471. With its 12.8 liter displacement, the engine delivers 450 hp (336 kW) and attains a maximum torque level of 1550 lb-ft (2300 Nm). Power transmission is handled by the Allison WTB 500R torque converter automatic transmission with six gears. The vehicle is available in Business and Premium models, offering top-tier comfort, safety, and luxury features for motorcoach operators across North America.
Mercedes-Benz Tourrider showcased at UMA Motorcoach Expo
The Mercedes-Benz Tourrider Premium will be presented at the United Motorcoach Association (UMA) 2026 Motorcoach Expo, opening February 11–14 in Birmingham, Alabama. The Mercedes-Benz Tourrider Business is designed for elevated business-class requirements, while the Mercedes-Benz Tourrider Premium meets first-class expectations as a luxury motorcoach.
