Leinfelden-Echterdingen/Neu-Ulm/Horw/Drammen/Diepenbeek – Bus companies from across Europe rely on Setra touring coaches. Among them are Switzerland-based Gössi Carreisen, Norway’s Team Tour, and Belgium’s De Zigeuner.
Gössi Carreisen takes delivery of a new Setra touring coach
Gössi Carreisen AG has taken delivery of a new S 517 HDH. The Setra TopClass touring coach features the distinctive exterior design of its predecessor, subtly refined in detail, which served the Swiss company across Europe for twelve years.
The vehicle, equipped with 54 seats featuring new Gössi logos, offers passengers an attractive panoramic view of the passing landscapes thanks to a glass roof. The Setra TopClass touring coach also comes with a wide range of the latest driver assistance and safety systems from Daimler Buses, including MirrorCam, which replaces conventional mirrors with cameras.
Gössi Carreisen AG was founded in 1975 by Xaver and Verena Gössi in Horw in the canton of Lucerne. In the early 1980s, the company opted for its first bus from the Ulm-based brand. The partnership, characterized by mutual trust, continues in the second generation under Marco and Karin Gössi. For Marco Gössi, there is no question about continuing the cooperation: “We choose Setra because quality, comfort, and reliability have always been our top priorities—for both our passengers and our company.” The traditional family business operating on Lake Lucerne currently runs 17 Setra vehicles across Europe.
Across Germany with Setra buses from all model series
The Norwegian bus company Team Tour made a stop at Daimler Buses’ customer center in Neu-Ulm during a nine-day tour through Germany. Traveling with the group were 44 passengers, seven drivers—and six Setra vehicles representing all model series. Alongside an S 9 from the 10 series, an S 215 HD from the 200 series, an S 315 HD from the 300 series, an S 416 HDH from the 400 series, and an S 515 HD from the current series, one particularly special coach also took part.
The S 140 from the 100 series was the first Setra bus delivered to Norway. In its honor—the two-axle vehicle was purchased in 1976, exactly 50 years ago, by the bus company Herbrand Haraldseth—the trip was organized by Jan Såtvedt. The owner of Team Tour, which currently operates seven Setra touring coaches, acquired the anniversary vintage bus in 2001.
The company, based in Drammen, about 25 miles from Oslo, primarily offers travel throughout Scandinavia and across other European countries, as well as tours in the greater Oslo region. Jan Såtvedt is a genuine Setra enthusiast, appreciating the comfort, safety, quality, and design of the vehicles: “A journey in a Setra is always an experience—for both passengers and drivers.”
De Zigeuner becomes a new Setra customer
The Belgian bus company De Zigeuner from Diepenbeek has taken delivery of its first Setra touring coach—a S 516 HDH. The Setra TopClass vehicle is equipped with 51 luxurious Ambassador seats, a panoramic glass roof, and integrated screens. All seats feature USB-A and USB-C ports. A comprehensive driver assistance package, the MirrorCam system, and 360-degree cameras ensure maximum safety.
“With this investment, De Zigeuner underscores its commitment to delivering a premium travel experience today and in the future,” says Managing Director Tom De Troyer. De Zigeuner offers organized trips, coach rentals, and customized packages for schools and clubs—now also with Setra vehicles. “Our customers travel at their own pace. We place great value on the small extras that make the difference,” explains Tom De Troyer. “Adding Setra buses fits perfectly with that philosophy.”
