Exterior: HDH model with confident appearance

Brilliant chrome, black front panel, metallic paintwork in arctic green including the detachable parts, gently shimmering aluminum wheels – the Setra TopClass S 516 HDH test coach is already a statement on the outside. Its intrinsic values are outstanding, for example when it comes to safety. With the emergency braking assistant Active Brake Assist 6 (ABA 6), Frontguard Assist, the Sideguard Assist 2 turning assistant now acting on the door and driver’s side and other systems, the Setra HDH defines the safety level in the absolute top class of coaches.

Interior: luxuriously equipped passenger compartment

The dimensions of things are also described by the spacious and as luxuriously as well as well-consideredly equipped passenger compartment. The Setra super-high-decker welcomes its passengers with a backlit brand lettering in the door sill panel at door one. A floor covering in Harmonia Rosewood wood decor, 48 Setra Voyage Ambassador seats with seat and backrest surfaces in Gecko Amarena fabric, adjustable head restraints in gray Composition upholstery, side bolsters and backrests in iron gray, plus light brown curtains: this looks elegant and dynamic at the same time – above all in combination with the brand-typical TopSky Panorama glass roof. The Coach Infotainment series multimedia system, large monitors in HD quality as well as USB and 230-volt sockets ensure information and entertainment on board.

Cockpit: extremely attractive, highly functional and exemplary safety

The driver’s dream is the Comfort Plus cockpit, which has an exemplary ergonomic design and is extensively equipped. This does not only apply to the instrumentation, control elements and stowage compartments. This applies in particular to the equipment with the latest assistance systems: Whether Active Drive Assist 2 with the step towards automated driving, the latest version of Predictive Powertrain Control, MirrorCam instead of outside mirrors, 360° camera system. Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function, Active Brake Assist 6, Sideguard Assist 2, Frontguard Assist Attention Assist, Traffic Sign Assist, tire pressure monitoring system TPM – all of these systems take driving a coach to a new and unprecedented level. The equally superior drivetrain harmonizes with the superior appearance of the TopClass.

The powerful yet highly efficient OM 471 engine with 375 kW (510 hp), the fully automated GO 250–8 PowerShift transmission and the RO 440 drive axle come from a single source and are perfectly matched to each other.
