OMNIplus, the Daimler Buses service brand for Mercedes-Benz and Setra buses and coaches, celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2026. Since 1996, it has supported operators throughout the entire vehicle life cycle, with the aim of maximising fleet availability, reducing downtime and providing specialist support in day-to-day operations.
In a sector where every vehicle taken out of service has a direct impact on operational capacity, aftersales service is an essential part of the business. OMNIplus therefore combines a workshop network, roadside assistance, parts supply, service contracts, maintenance solutions and specific product expertise.
Over these three decades, OMNIplus has evolved alongside the needs of the industry: from traditional workshop, assistance and parts services to new digital solutions and specialised services for electric vehicles. In this way, it reinforces its role as Daimler Buses’ service partner, supporting operators both in their day-to-day operations and as they address new challenges in efficiency, digitalisation and e-mobility.
A service network specialised in buses and coaches
OMNIplus has one of the largest bus-specific service networks in Europe, with more than 600 service outlets. All operate according to the standards defined by Daimler Buses, with qualified personnel, specialist tools and diagnostic equipment tailored to Mercedes-Benz and Setra buses and coaches.
OMNIplus 24h Service: assistance when it is needed most
Operators can rely on the European OMNIplus network even outside normal workshop opening hours. In the event of a breakdown or incident, OMNIplus 24h Service is available around the clock via a single Europe-wide telephone number, with assistance provided in the relevant national language.
The service enables assistance to be coordinated quickly and efficiently, with the aim of reducing vehicle downtime and helping operators restore vehicle availability as soon as possible.
Genuine parts for Mercedes-Benz and Setra
OMNIplus ensures a fast and reliable supply of genuine parts and accessories for Mercedes-Benz and Setra buses, a key factor in reducing downtime and ensuring that repairs are carried out in accordance with the manufacturer’s standards.
More than 130,000 genuine parts are permanently available worldwide, and common parts for Mercedes-Benz and Setra buses remain available for at least 15 years.
Operators can also purchase parts via the OMNIplus eShop, which is available 24 hours a day. The platform allows users to search for parts according to the customer’s specific fleet, check availability and prices, and place orders. It can also be integrated into customers’ own ERP systems via a digital interface.
Remanufactured parts and additive manufacturing
OMNIplus also offers genuine remanufactured parts, an alternative designed to optimise costs and improve the CO₂ balance while maintaining the manufacturer’s quality standards.
This is complemented by additive manufacturing: an increasing number of parts can be produced using 3D printing, either directly at the service outlet or, in certain cases, at the customer’s premises under a printing licence. These parts provide the same functionality, reliability and durability as parts manufactured using conventional processes.
Around 40,000 bus parts can currently be 3D-printed, helping to shorten supply times and increase flexibility, particularly for less common or lower-volume components.
Service contracts: certainty and cost transparency
OMNIplus service contracts allow maintenance and repair services to be tailored to the needs of each operator. With customised solutions, companies can plan their costs more effectively, reduce uncertainty and ensure that their vehicles are maintained in accordance with Daimler Buses standards.
Specialist expertise for electric vehicles
The transition to e-mobility also places new demands on aftersales service. OMNIplus therefore has specialised eBus service centres equipped for the maintenance and repair of electric vehicles such as the Mercedes-Benz eCitaro and, in future, the eIntouro.
These centres have personnel qualified to work on high-voltage technology and the equipment required to safely service components such as the electric axle, inverters, electrical lines, fuses and systems located on the vehicle roof. In this way, Daimler Buses extends the same service standards offered for conventional buses and coaches to the electric vehicle sector.
