Daimler Buses highlights at FIAA 2026

Mercedes-Benz eIntouro

With the new Mercedes-Benz eIntouro, Daimler Buses is taking a decisive step in the electrification of interurban services. As Daimler Buses’ first fully battery-electric interurban bus, the model is designed to open up new possibilities for interurban routes, school transport, shuttle services and excursions.

The eIntouro is available in two lengths and uses LFP battery technology. It also features a new electronics architecture that enables over-the-air updates without the need for a workshop visit.

Mercedes-Benz eCitaro with NMC4 battery

The introduction of the fourth-generation NMC4 battery marks another step forward in the evolution of the Mercedes-Benz eCitaro. The new battery for the eCitaro, eCitaro G and eCitaro K combines high energy density with a long service life. This extended service life is achieved not only through gentle charging at up to 150 kW, but also with regular fast charging at up to 300 kW. This development is part of a broader product initiative for the eCitaro, which also includes the new ZF AxTrax 2 LF axle and further measures designed to enhance the efficiency and operational capabilities of the battery-electric city bus.

Mercedes-Benz Tourismo Safety Coach

Safety will also take centre stage with the Mercedes-Benz Tourismo Safety Coach, a coach equipped with advanced driver assistance systems and technologies designed to help prevent accidents. Its appearance at FIAA comes at a particularly significant time for the model range, following the milestone of more than 40,000 units delivered.

Mercedes-Benz OC 500 hybrid

With the launch of the new Mercedes-Benz OC 500 hybrid, Daimler Buses is expanding its chassis portfolio with a 48-volt mild-hybrid solution designed to improve operational efficiency and reduce fuel consumption and emissions in interurban, commuter, regional and school transport services. The system operates automatically during phases such as starting, idling and initial acceleration, while also recovering energy during braking, without requiring operators to change their usual operations.

The range is available in two versions, the OC 500 LE 1930 hybrid and the OC 500 RF 1936 hybrid. It is manufactured in Sámano, Cantabria, where Daimler Buses operates a specialised facility recognised as its European centre of competence for chassis production.

Setra: 75 years of innovation and excellence

Setra will have a prominent presence at FIAA 2026 in the year in which the brand celebrates its 75th anniversary. Its history began in 1951 with the S 8, the first self-supporting coach. Since then, Setra has repeatedly set new standards in bus and coach manufacturing. At the Daimler Buses España stand, Setra will be represented by models from its TopClass, ComfortClass and MultiClass families. The Setra S 531 DT will highlight the TopClass concept in double-decker format, combining high passenger capacity, comfort and ride quality for tourism services and long-distance routes.

The ComfortClass range will be represented by the Setra S 515 HD, a versatile and efficient coach designed for charter and tourism services as well as medium- and long-distance routes. The Setra S 515 LE hybrid will represent the brand’s offering for interurban and regional services, combining a low-entry concept that facilitates passenger access with hybrid technology designed to improve efficiency in everyday operation.

OMNIplus: supporting operators for 30 years

Daimler Buses España’s presence at FIAA will also include a dedicated area for OMNIplus, the Daimler Buses service brand, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary with one central promise: keeping the operator’s bus and business in safe hands.

Since 1996, OMNIplus has supported bus and coach operators in their day-to-day operations. Its offering combines workshop services, specialist assistance, service contracts, spare parts supply, digital solutions and services for new drive systems.

Traditional OMNIplus services will remain a fundamental pillar for maximising vehicle availability and providing specialist support throughout the fleet’s entire life cycle. They are complemented by OMNIplus ON, the digital ecosystem that provides access to relevant information on vehicle condition, remote diagnostics, consumption data, driving analyses, location services and battery monitoring.

The third element of the ecosystem is OMNIplus Charge, the brand under which Daimler Buses bundles its e-mobility infrastructure services. OMNIplus Charge supports operators from feasibility analysis and planning through to the implementation of charging solutions, electrical installations, charging management systems, energy storage and associated services.

In addition to the vehicles displayed at the stand, Daimler Buses España will make three vehicles available for test drives by trade visitors: the Mercedes-Benz Tourismo Safety Coach, the Mercedes-Benz eIntouro M and the Setra S 516 HDH. This will give operators and specialist media the opportunity to experience first-hand the handling, comfort and technologies of some of the most representative models in the current Daimler Buses portfolio.
