About Daimler Buses in Neu-Ulm:
The Neu-Ulm plant was founded in 1991 by Karl Kässbohrer Fahrzeugwerke GmbH. Following the merger of Mercedes-Benz bus manufacturing with the Kässbohrer brand Setra, the plant became part of Daimler Buses respectively the 100% subsidiary EvoBus GmbH in 1995.
At the Neu-Ulm plant, the final assembly for Mercedes-Benz and Setra coaches takes place. Furthermore, Neu-Ulm is the "competence center paint shop" for the Western European production network. Intercity and coach seats are produced in the seat production facility located at the plant. Neu-Ulm is also home to the RD center for safety and assistance systems, the testing department for integral vehicles and the "Customer Services & Parts" unit including the competence center for 3D printed parts. Buses are regularly handed over to customers at the Setra Customer Center and customers are consulted on the interior and exterior design of their buses at the Design Center.
